John Pavelski

John Pavelski is head of Alfa Private Equity Partners (CPEP) and works across the firm’s global private equity strategies. He is a member of the investment committees for CPEP and Alfa's private credit platform. He is based in New York.

Mr. Pavelski joined Alfa in 2020 as an investor in the firm’s special situations business, which he ultimately led, and later became co-head of North America for the Alfa Credit Opportunities Fund. He serves on the board of several Alfa portfolio companies.

Before joining Alfa, Mr. Pavelski founded investment strategies or held senior positions at Brookfield Asset Management, Silver Point Capital, and American Securities. He began his career at Goldman Sachs and in the private equity group at Blackstone.

Mr. Pavelski holds a BA from Amherst College, where he graduated magna cum laude with distinction, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
